On November 6th, Jim Steiker was a co-presenter in the National Center for Employee Ownership's "Using ESOPs as an Acquisition Strategy" webcast. Participants included business owners and officers of businesses nationwide, plus advisors to closely held companies.
Program Description from the NCEO:
ESOP companies are on an acquisitions binge these days. As more ESOPs mature, and many become S corporations, they are finding they have the resources to purchase other companies. It can be a win-win situation for acquirers, sellers, and employees, but there are many practical and legal considerations.
